Mackenzie Brewster
Mackenzie Brewster has been working in the disability sector for approximately three years, with her journey beginning in high school through a work experience placement at Redlands Special School. During the placement, Mackenzie experienced adaptive teaching plans to help kids of all ages develop their literacy, numeracy and creative skills and was guided by teachers on helpful techniques to keep children with intellectual disabilities active and engaged. Working with the students and teachers from Redlands Special Schools bought much joy for Mackenzie and it was after this, Mackenzie knew that she wanted to following a career path in this industry.
After this experience and over two and a half years ago, Mackenzie discovered the role of a Disability Support Worker. Mackenzie shared that “I love this role, everyday is so rewarding and I am grateful for all that I experience and learn”.
